MEHDI CHOURIB

Dynamic entrepreneur and visionary, Mehdi Chourib, founded T-SCOP to be a global player in Information Security worldwide. Operating across Germany, the United States, France and Dubai, T-SCOP specialises in managed security services, advisory services, GDPR compliance, and identity and incident response for enterprise level organizations. Mehdi’s abilities to understand industry trends and successfully analyse businesses’ security demands have made him a global cybersecurity expert. He regularly shares his expertise with many entrepreneurial communities.
Mehdi Chourib is a scientific researcher in the field of Information Network Information Hiding (network covert channels and network steganography). He also lectures regularly on Information Network Information Hiding at Germany’s University of Applied Sciences, Worms.
With more than 10 years professional experience, Mehdi Chourib has covered several aspects of information security such as the leadership, organizational, governance, compliance, technical and operational aspects. Also, his portfolio includes many industries in the automotive, information technology, retail and health care sectors. In his former role as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Yazaki European Group, he led the implementation of European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) across many countries.

ALEJANDRO GUERRERO

Alejandro Guerrero is a Spanish qualified lawyer in the Brussels office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Mr. Guerrero has broad experience in general EU antitrust (and its interaction with Intellectual Property), cartel enforcement, vertical agreements, abuse of dominance and antitrust private litigation.  He has advised a variety of clients active in the luxury, financial, technology, energy, telecommunications and consumer goods sectors.  His practice encompasses, amongst other, assisting clients in developing and implementing compliance programs, assessing business practices (e.g., distribution, pricing) and providing advice regarding complex agreements (e.g., co-operation, partnership).  Mr. Guerrero also has extensive experience in merger control, having trained in a merger unit of the European Commission and intervened in complex EU-wide transactions.  He has broad experience in global multi-jurisdictional filings in a broad array of sectors. His most notable experience includes the following cases, which involved merger filings in numerous jurisdictions within the EU and abroad:

  • Assisting an insurance service provider in its acquisition of a brokerage business representing €800 million in revenues and €1.9 billion in total assets, for an undisclosed amount.
  • Assisting a manufacturer of pulp and paper products in its $1.45 billion acquisition of a competitor.
  • Assisting a manufacturer of printers and electronic devices in its $3 billion acquisition of a networks equipment manufacturer.
  • Assisting a cosmetics manufacturer in its $240 million acquisition of a competitor.
  • Assisting a beverage producer in its $3.2 billion acquisition of a manufacturer of home-beverage products.
  • Assisting a provider of package delivery services in its acquisition of a clinical logistics company, for an undisclosed amount.

Mr. Guerrero advises on EU privacy and data protection rules, both at national level and from a U.S.-EU standpoint. Mr. Guerrero is a CIPP/E certified under the IAPP certification scheme for privacy professionals with regard to European data privacy laws. He has assisted numerous clients in their GDPR compliance projects, including the review of their data processing activities, contractual arrangements and privacy policies, and has also represented clients in proceedings followed before authorities and courts in the EU.

Mr. Guerrero also follows closely the developments of the Digital Agenda and its impact on EU antitrust and data protection.  He also has experience in planning and conducting FCPA investigations in Europe, assisting clients with the analysis of conduct and carrying out onsite investigations and interviews.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Guerrero trained at the Brussels office of a major Spanish law firm and at the DG for Competition of the European Commission.

A native Spanish speaker, Mr. Guerrero is fluent in English and French.
